PAST EVENT
Performance Climbing. Forchheim, Germany.
May 2025
Frankenjura is more than just a climbing area; it’s one of the birthplaces of sport climbing and a place where the philosophy of pushing limits continues to evolve. It’s also where Alex Megos was shaped into the climber he is today. His mindset, disciplined, bold, and relentlessly focused, reflects the spirit of this community and its deep connection to climbing performance.
That same spirit lives on at Frankenjura Academy, Alex’s training facility in Forchheim. Built for athletes, coaches, route setters, and the figures who shape climbing from the ground up, the academy is a hub for technical growth and mental resilience, a space where the culture of training hard is preserved, and the next generation of climbers is inspired to keep pushing higher.
This vision came to life through Tenaya Outclimb: Performance Climbing at Frankenjura
Academy, where climbers had the opportunity to train directly under Alex’s guidance. Across focused bouldering and lead climbing sessions, climbers explored drills designed to enhance power, technique, endurance, and mental focus. The training blended physical conditioning with technical precision and psychological strategy, offering valuable insights and a rare glimpse into the methods that define elite-level performance.
Within the historic walls of Frankenjura, surrounded by the legacy of climbing innovation, the next generation took another step forward, continuing the evolution of the sport.
